1.Can
the system scan insurance
cards?
Yes, the front and back of
the insurance cards can be
scanned and viewed, and attached
to the patient's account.
2.Can the
system scan the patient's
driver's license?
Yes. You can scan multiple
items to a patient's account
including driver's license or
picture ID. This is another
step toward HIPAA compliance.
When a patient visits your
window, you can pull his/her
picture and verify that they
really are that patient BEFORE
you release medical records,
x-rays or give out private patient
information.
3.Would we
be able to scan miscellaneous
documents like medical release,
PHI disclosure release and
skin tests and attach it to
that patient for future review?
Yes. There is no limit to
what can be scanned into the
system.
4.Does the
system "remember"
the patient you were working
on in the previous screen
to be "hot keyed"
into the current screen?
Yes. There are several "hot
key" functions.
5.Can patient
bills be customized to our
practice?
Yes. In addition, the system
can be set up to send a different
remark each time they are
billed for the same balance.
For example, on the second
bill you may want to say "Your
balance is 30 days past due.
Please send a payment promptly".
The third bill may say, "We
have not received a payment
on your account. Your account
will be eligible for collections
in 10 days".
6.Would management/administration
have the capability to edit
the patient bill, encounter
forms and reports locally
without involving tech support?
Yes. The reports are user
defined.
7.Is the system
set-up for user specific log
in and password-protected
entry? Can every transaction
in the system be traced back
to that user?
Yes. Every movement is stamped
with the user, date and time
information. Everything can
be tracked and reported.
8.Can the
system be set to auto-log
off users after a determined
period of time?
Yes. This is called a "sleep
mode" and the user must
log back into the program
with his/her password upon return.
This is another step in HIPAA
compliance.
9.Can user
access be defined locally
by management/administrator?
Yes, this is a standard process
to grant or restrict access.
With a simple "yes"
or "no", management
can allow a user to have access
to demographics but not all
of them the ability to view
financial/account information
and more.
10.Is the
system equipped with interoffice
email?
Yes.
11.Can you
open or work on more than
one patient at time?
Yes. You can open an unlimited
number of patients/windows.

CPT and ICD-9 codes updated

cards and insurance check
totals separately?

the satellite locations connect
to the system?

DSL.
15.Can I directly
connect to my insurance carriers
and transmit HIPAA compliant
claims?
Yes. With the Healthpac software,
you will transmit 837/4010A
HIPAA compliant formatted
claims. You can also download
and process 835 remittance.
